ATLANTIC COLLEGE 10K ROAD RACE 2010
SUNDAY 21ST MARCH 2010, 11AM START
This popular race in the Spring calendar prides itself on its fast, albeit undulating course , run over a scenic route, starting in the grounds of Atlantic College and with a fast finish under the Castle's Outer Arch! Atlantic College students bring a great party atmosphere to the to event. and all runners are welcome, from casual joggers to elite athletes!
With 474 finishers, the 2009 race saw its biggest field ever. Race organiser (and ladies course record holder) Ruth Pickvance commented: "the sunny, yet cool weather, made for perfect race conditions, and Atlantic College students brought a great atmosphere to the event
2009 Winners : Jon Wills (Bristol & West) and Caryl Jones (TROTS) crowned Welsh champions.
In perfect sunny weather, Jon Wills managed to hold off Simon Jones (Belgrave Harriers), to win the 2009 race in a new course record of 30:24, in an exciting sprint finish. Michael Johnson (Cardiff AC) came a close third, and took the Welsh silver medal.
Caryl Jones led a strong ladies field to take the Welsh title in 36:03, with Emma Waterhouse (Chester-le-Street AC) in second place and Natasha Cockram (Cwbran Harriers) in third.

Directions to Atlantic College :
By rail
Main line to Bridgend station and a further 20 mins by hourly bus or taxi to St Donats. London to Bridgend trains run hourly, taking approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Llantwit Major is part of the Vale of Glamorgan Train Line from Bridgend to Cardiff. Trains run hourly ( every two hours on a Sunday) and Llantwit Major is less than a 10 minute taxi ride to St Donat's. (or 2.37 miles if you want to walk! )

By road
M4 Westbound
• Exit junction 33 for A4232
• On A4232 take exit signposted Barry/Cardiff Airport
• At large roundabout, take 4th exit for A48 towards Cowbridge
• Continue on the A48 past Cowbridge
• Take B4270 to Llantwit Major (brown sign for Atlantic College)
• Follow brown tourist signs for Atlantic College or St Donats Castle on B4265 (signposted Bridgend)
M4 Eastbound
• Exit junction 35 onto A473 South
• At roundabout, take A48 towards Cardiff
• Turn right on B4268 (sign posted Pentre Meyrick/Llysworney)
• Keep straight on At the roundabout outside Llantwit Major, take B4265 (3rd exit, signposted Bridgend)
• On B4265 take second left (brown sign Atlantic College)
• Follow brown tourist signs for Atlantic College
