About Us
The Atlantic Outdoor Centre (AOC) is a unique outdoor activity centre dedicated to community service and hosted by a school, UWC Atlantic College.
Every year this dynamic centre welcomes thousands of people onto campus, opening up the facilities of UWC Atlantic College to disadvantaged young people and the general public who participate in a wide range of learning and sporting activities.
Another distinctive feature is the Atlantic Outdoor Centre instructors are former students of the college, trained in a huge variety of outdoor pursuits through the community service element of the International Baccalaureate Diploma, which the 350 16-19 year old students study for whilst at the college. The centre is managed and supervised by an experienced team of qualified professionals, each with their own set of specialisms.
Many visitors enjoy residential activity courses though day, session and specialist courses are also readily available. In the most part, the groups that visit the Atlantic Outdoor Centre are schools, youth groups, people with learning difficulties, social priority groups, physically disabled people and hospital groups, and they come from all parts of the UK.
