UWC Atlantic College exists to bring together promising, talented and deserving young people from across the globe and from all walks of life, to provide them with a unique educational opportunity. The deliberate diversity of its student body represents a key feature of the UWC Atlantic College experience which is designed to promote peace, international understanding and to challenge young people to embrace difference, responsibility and initiative.
A registered charity, the college receives no public funding and relies on gifts and donations from generous benefactors and Alumni.
"Annual Fund" - this describes the annual fundraising cycle of the college. The Annual Fund provides an opportunity for alumni and friends to support the college and its students. The Annual Fund is crucial to the long-term success of the college and we are grateful for your support.
Gifts to the Annual Fund can be designated in the following ways;
- College Bursary Fund – This provides bursaries for the next generation of talented and deserving UWC Atlantic College students. Gifts from alumni and friends support the fund and enable the college to reach out across the globe and ensure we retain a diverse student population. - “Area of Greatest Need” - Designating your gift to the “Area of Greatest Need” allows the college flexibility to use your donation where the needs are greatest and where it will have the largest impact. Gifts to this area have supported bursaries, campus refurbishment, student projects and much more.
We remain extremely grateful to the numerous Alumni, Friends, Trusts, Foundations and Corporations who believe in the UWC Atlantic College mission. Their generosity and often long-term commitment is vital to the college and its future development, particularly as UWC Atlantic College moves towards its fiftieth anniversary in 2012.
UWC Atlantic College Alumni, individually and collectively are currently providing financial support for 19 students at the college. They also recently funded the refurbishment of one of the college's original student houses and a new environmentally-friendly Biomass heating system at the college.
