The UKMT (United Kingdom Mathematics Trust) SMC (Senior Mathematics Challenge) took place here at UWC Atlantic on Thursday 7th November with 40 students participating. The SMC is a 90-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. We are incredibly proud of our students who achieved 16 gold certificates, 6 silver and 2 bronze. 16 of our students have been invited to complete in the next stage - the Senior Kangaroo Challenge.

On Monday 25th November Cheng-Shao (Patrick) Ni, Karim Ghaddar, Naoki It and Nadezhda (Nadia) Kitipova will attend the UKMT STMC (Senior Team Mathematics Challenge) regional final in Cardiff - we wish them the best of luck!
