A beautifully sunny spring day on Monday saw the first year IRB group take to the water without their second years who have now begun preparing for their IB exams. The group headed down to Nash Sands and with a very low tide, there was plenty of sand to land on. Of the five boats on the water, three were built recently at the college - the Greyhound, the Bee and most recently, the prototype Tsunami rescue boat, the Flying Dutchman. Putting the Dutchman through her paces was alumni and ex-RNLI helm Saul Mendelssohn. Saul is a marine engineer and was able to give the Dutchman a thorough test which she came through with flying colours.
