Santa Lucia at UWC Atlantic College is a celebratory parade that our Scandinavian students are very familiar with, it is normally introduced from nursery and primary school and presented at the college as a social event for the Scandinavian students. It has now become tradition that students dress in long white gowns and sing the Santa Lucia hymn, along with a small handful of traditional Norwegian Christmas Carols, to other students on the last day of term during supper time. The lights of the dining hall are dimmed and the students enter by just candle light. It is a joyful and peaceful end of term event with an element of cultural exchange.
