Student, Caroline Montag, accepted for Global Citizen Year

Caroline Montag

Global Citizen Year is a bridge year programme spent eight months either in Senegal, Brazil, Ecuador or India living in a host family. The programme is for students that just graduated from high school. Before going to one of the host countries the fellows take part in a pre-departure training. During the eight months one does community service, which can be in the area of social enterprise, education, environmental conservation, public health or agriculture. In addition, there are language courses for the fellows to properly learn the language spoken in the host country. I'm very excited to be accepted for Global Citizen Year, as it will allow me to emerge into a different culture than my own, learn life skills, meet new people and most importantly be able to focus my time on community service.
