Student, Immaculata Abba, accepted for Global Citizen Year

Congratulations to student, Immaculata Abba, who is one of the students at UWC Atlantic College accepted for Global Citizen Year. Global Citizen Year prepares globally-minded leaders by embedding the bridge year into the American higher education system, transforming the way young people transition into college and approach their continued education.

Immaculata had this to say about being accepted, 'I am definitely looking forward to the invaluable experience of spending a year in Senegal as a Global Citizen Year Fellow. There is everything to be excited about because it's a year where I get to shape my own education and learn outside the classroom at my own pace. A year to learn new languages, make new friends and immerse myself in a new community. A year of story sharing and story telling and as they say, it's a year that will be spent mostly out of my comfort zone. I am very grateful for the offer.'

‘From the person who donated £20, to the person who donated £2000 - thank you. I am extremely grateful and indebted… I will do everything in my power to make sure that the contribution made is going to mean something more…’
