Art and Friendship Celebrated at St George's Society Luncheon

Fighting Temeraire

A 35-year friendship between families on both sides of the Atlantic was celebrated at the annual luncheon of the St George's Society. UWC Atlantic College is to receive a gift from the Goodman Foundation, in honour of the United World Colleges and its founder. The gift comprises of a replica of J.M.W. Turner’s painting ‘Fighting Temeraire’, and an accompanying plaque, which will hang next to a portrait of Lord Mountbatten at UWC Atlantic College. The artwork is a 92nd birthday present to Countess Patricia Mountbatten in memory of her father, UWC founder Lord Mountbatten.
