Refugee Project Week

Refugee Project Week

‘‘From March 4th to March 8th, 28 AC students in the Cardiff Refugee Exchange Project had a fantastic project week with our refugee friends in Cardiff. One part of the project was the Refugee Day, where they invited over 60 refugees to enjoy a day at Atlantic College.

On Sunday, March 5th, after a long day of preparation the day before, students organized a very successful Refugee Day. There were various activities throughout the day including icebreaker games, swimming, castle tours, Middle Eastern lunch and performances. Both the refugees and students had a memorable day, and everyone was smiling in the end of the day during the Dapka dances.

Catarina Leonel, class of 2018, from Brazil: “This project week was an amazing experience and opened my eyes a lot, and I feel proud that I took part in such an amazing contribution to the community. The day on Sunday was the best and most exciting as you could see the glee on their faces.”
