UWC Atlantic College is a unique and pioneering institution with an international mission: to make education a force that unites people, nations and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.
It was founded in 1962 by a group of visionaries. Their goal: to engage young people from around the globe to find peaceful means to overcome political, racial and socioeconomic barriers, in the form of a college. It was the founding college of a global education movement called the United World Colleges.
More than 50 years on, UWC Atlantic College continues to produce alumni who have learned crucial lessons about tolerance, trust, integrity and responsibility. Our students make a lifelong commitment to the values they absorb here. They live, learn and lead together in an intensive, intercultural and residential experience, debating world issues that include conflict, climate change, racism and inequality. The education provided is rigorous and demanding, designed to help our students evolve into the next generation of political, business, academic, cultural, and not-for-profit leaders and activists - individuals who understand that change is possible through skilled dialogue, courageous action and a determination to make situations better.
Many alumni are using the lessons and values acquired at the college to make real and lifelong differences in their communities and across the globe. Support this programme by making your own lifelong commitment to UWC Atlantic College.
Leaving a gift to the college in your Will represents an example of the kind of passion, vision and leadership we aspire to instil in our students.
