Donor Community

We are very fortunate to have a passionate and engaged global community - people from all walks of life who choose to give back to UWC Atlantic in so many meaningful and purposeful ways. Our community comes together to donate their time, talent and treasure to supporting UWC Atlantic and our students.

We look forward to working with you to find an opportunity that fits your needs, challenges and strengths.

Time

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and bring with them experience, charisma and an eagerness to support the diverse students of UWC Atlantic.  As a volunteer, you could help with a range of activities including maintaining the gardens on campus, fostering the valley and being a critical support to the College.

If you would like to discuss our volunteering opportunities, please email us.

UWC Atlantic campus volunteers

"I have been involved with the Campus Volunteers since 2012, when the group began, under Jill Longson's inspiration, to carry out projects at AC ahead of the 50th celebrations. We have worked in the gardens, in the student houses and in various other locations on campus to enhance and renovate areas for all those who live, study and work at UWC Atlantic. For myself, it's a chance to give something back to this wonderful college in the company of old and new friends. It is lovely to see that the dream is still alive and flourishing!"

Would you like to give something back and share your knowledge? From careers days, mentoring and student talks, we have a range of opportunities to share your talents with our students.

Friday Night Lectures

Friday Night Lectures is a decades-long UWC Atlantic tradition for students to learn about a wide range of topics from alumni with personal stories and life journeys. The lectures are held on Friday evenings, in one of the oldest rooms on campus. They are officially 30 minutes long, but often extend to up to a few hours, in which attendees engage in discussions with the speaker and with each other.

Mudit Tyagi

"In the Friday Night Lecture I conveyed a story, based on personal experiences, of failures and successes in an effort to bring about positive social change. Throughout an interactive session the audience was challenged to come up with ideas, think through the details such that it would be possible to implement the ideas, and list concrete next steps that they can try. The goal was for the students to learn what it takes to implement an idea and to inspire others to adopt it. Thank you so much for inviting me. It was truly wonderful to interact with students and staff.

Treasure

As we completed our 60th Anniversary and launched our new 10 year strategy, we are asking for your commitment to help us deliver the next phase of innovation. We are immensely proud of what we have achieved so far, but we know we can, and must, do more if we are to develop programmes, pedagogy and practice to meet 21st Century challenges; continue our pioneering educational tradition, nurture and harness the purpose and potential of a deliberately diverse student body and protect and preserve the fabric of our unique and magical campus in a sustainable way.
